2017 IOLI Lace Contest

International Organization of Lace, Inc.
and the
Liberty Lacers announce the lace contest theme:

Kites and Keys - taking the world by storm

The theme, "Kites and Keys—taking the world by storm!", is inspired by Philadelphia favorite Son of Liberty, Benjamin Franklin, and his legendary kite experiment:

The theme is inspired by Philadelphia favorite Son of Liberty, Benjamin Franklin, and his legendary kite experiment. According to historic account, Franklin attached an iron key to a kite by means of a silk strand with a thin metal wire traveling from the key to a collection jar. Participants may exercise liberty to interpret the theme, representing either overt or implied references to kite, key, and/or storm. Each entry must incorporate a minimum of one “thin metal strand” and one “silk thread.”

Completed lace entry with form must be postmarked on or before July 1, 2017.
